Chaplaincy Opportunities

The OACC-USA highly endorses the below chaplain organizations. Although the organizations are ministries apart from the OACC-USA; many of our clergy are members of one or both of these excellent chaplain organizations.

Critical Incident Response Chaplains, Inc.

Originally established to credential qualified Christians serving as Chaplains in an emergency response capacity (i.e., Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS, CISM, CERT, FEMA, etc.), the CIRC is open to all qualified Christians serving or desiring to serve Christ as a Chaplain. CIRC Chaplains include Community, Disaster Relief, Emergency Response, Healthcare, Institutional, and Military Chaplains, as well as Christian and Pastoral Counselors. Members may be part time or full time paid Chaplains or volunteers.

CIRC Chaplains reflect a broad swath of Christian traditions, and are united in their focus to bring the love of Jesus Christ to all people in need, regardless of race, creed, color, religion, or socioeconomic status. Located throughout the United States, the CIRC partners with local, state, and federal officials, as well as schools, food banks, churches, and other charitable organizations to help all God’s Children.

Anyone called to serve Christ as a Chaplain is welcome to join the CIRC. Typically, individuals seeking affiliation and credentialing as a CIRC Chaplain have extensive experience within their area of expertise, and/or have gained expertise through various education and training paradigms. CIRC Chaplains are not required to be ordained ministers. Benefits in joining the CIRC include credentialing, free education opportunities including CEUs, help with placement in volunteer positions, and the knowledge that you are a member of a respected organization that upholds service, integrity and compassion as part of their core values. All CIRC Chaplains are committed to Jesus Christ and His Word, as they carry His mercy and compassion into the world, remembering that He has taught us:

“Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” (Matthew 25, KJV)

Legal Status: the Critical Incident Response Chaplains (CIRC) is an independent, non-sectarian, non-partisan Christian Chaplaincy organization, and a non-profit church corporation.

The International Chaplains Corps

The Austrian Lifesaving Society (ÖLRG) is a humanitarian, non-profit volunteer institution, supported by the general public. Helping people, especially children, is one of the most important tasks of this organization. The Society incorporates The International Chaplains Corps of the OLRG - OBV. The International Chaplains Corps is under the direct supervision of the President of the Society, BRR. Davy Koller, and is established to provide Crisis, Grief and Spiritual Counseling services, to those in need, during times of disaster, crisis and any situation as requested.
There is absolutely no charge for their services. Many of their chaplains have provided much needed support during major emergencies while also serving their communities as Police, Fire Department and EMS chaplains.

Currently the ICC has chaplains in 16 different countries throughout the world. However, there is still a great need in many other areas currently not served. The ICC is an organization that needs volunteers and financial support.
